      🌅 Kanavinsky Bridge

      Канавинский мост

The first permanent bridge across the Oka: it takes 10–15 minutes to walk across, with a view of the Strelka and the kremlin.

      • Traffic on the bridge opened on 2 April 1933, and it took a year and a half to build.
      • Before it, the floating Plashkout Bridge stood here, set up in 1817 when the fair was moved from Makaryev.
      • Until 1961 Kanavinsky remained the only permanent bridge across the Oka in the city.
      • Trams ran over the bridge until 2009, and in 2010 the tracks were removed.
