      The house of the merchant shipbuilder Plotnikov with authentic interiors of the second half of the 19th century and workshops on Balakhna lace.

      • The house was built by the wealthy merchant shipbuilder Plotnikov in the second half of the 19th century, and the authentic interiors are well preserved.
      • The building was handed to the museum in 2012, and visitors were let in in 2014.
      • For several centuries Balakhna was a center of bobbin lace-making, and its lace was exported.
      • The technique of Balakhna lace was considered the most labor-intensive in Russia.
