        • Until the 1990s Lenin's memorial rooms were in the Kremlin, and they moved to Gorki during the Kremlin's reconstruction.
        • The exhibition is housed in one of the dacha buildings on the estate grounds; the working study and library have been recreated.
        • A separate part of the exhibition is devoted to gifts that Soviet citizens sent to Lenin.
        • The rooms where Lenin's sister Maria Ulyanova lived with him have been recreated too.

        • In 1909 the estate was bought by Zinaida Morozova, widow of Savva Morozov, who had married Moscow's governor Anatoly Reinbot.
        • Lenin first came to Gorki on 24–25 September 1918, after the assassination attempt, and lived here for about two years in total.
        • On Sverdlov's orders, the Kremlin commandant Pavel Malkov chose the house for Lenin: a “not too luxurious” mansion was needed.
        • Morozova's gilded furniture was hidden under white covers in Soviet times; they were removed only in the 21st century.
        • The farmyard, water tower and stables were built in 1913–1915 to a design by the architect Fyodor Kolbe.
        • After Lenin's death, until 1949, the family of his brother Dmitry Ilyich lived in the house.
        • On Funeral Alley stands Sergey Merkurov's granite composition “Death of the Leader”: nine workers carry Lenin's body.
