      ⏱ 1 h 30 min🚶 2.4 km🍽 1📍 4 stops
      🐢 A little — under 3 km

The level alleys of an old park, playgrounds for toddlers, the red-brick palace where Napoleon stayed and a croissant at the coffee shop in VTB Arena — all within five minutes of the metro.

👶 With kids🏛 History and architecture🌳 Parks and nature⏱ An hour or so
      👶 under 3, 3–6 years · ✓ stroller-friendly

Come to Petrovsky Park on the Big Circle Line — the new station has lifts; the old Dinamo has only escalators. The park paths are asphalt without steps; no crossings of Leningradsky Prospekt are needed.

        🌳 Petrovsky Park
        Ленинградский пр., Петровский парк
An old 19th-century dacha park around the Petrovsky Palace: avenues fan out from the palace, and the former out-of-town Moscow can still be felt all around.
From the exit of Petrovsky Park station straight into the park. The playgrounds are in the northern part, closer to Seryogina Street: on a weekday morning they’re almost empty.

        • The park was laid out in the 1830s under Nicholas I, and Petrovskoye quickly became a fashionable dacha spot.
        • The park's avenues — the Left and Right Palace avenues — meet at the Petrovsky Travel Palace.
        • People came here to carouse: the famous Yar restaurant with its Gypsy choir operated nearby.
        • In front of the palace stand monuments to Zhukovsky and Tsiolkovsky — a memory of the Air Force Academy.

        🏛 Petrovsky Travel Palace
        Ленинградский пр., 40
Matvey Kazakov's red-brick "Gothic" palace on the Petersburg road — tsars rested here before entering Moscow, and in 1812 Napoleon sheltered here from the fire.
Walk along Palace Alley to the front side. This is the Moscow Government Reception House, no entry inside, but the red-brick turrets with white decor are well visible from the fence.

        • The palace was built by Matvey Kazakov in 1776–1780 on Catherine II's commission.
        • Emperors travelling from Petersburg to their coronation made their last stop before Moscow here.
        • In September 1812 Napoleon waited out the fire of Moscow here.
        • From the 1920s the palace was occupied by the Zhukovsky Air Force Academy.
        • It now houses the Moscow Government Reception House and a hotel.

🏛 VTB Arena — Dynamo Stadium
        Ленинградский пр., 36
A new sports complex inside the bowl of the old Dynamo stadium: the historic east facade with its colonnade was preserved, and football and hockey arenas are hidden behind it.
Along the alley beside Leningradsky Prospekt, about 7 minutes. Look at the preserved colonnade of the old 1928 Dinamo stadium: kids enjoy finding where the “new” stadium hides inside the “old” one.

        • The complex was built on the site of the 1928 Dynamo stadium.
        • Two arenas share one roof: the football Lev Yashin Arena and the hockey Arkady Chernyshov Arena.
        • The first concept was devised by the Dutch architect Erick van Egeraat, the final design by the American David Manica.
        • Under the sports part are a shopping centre and underground parking.

☕️ Comme à Paris coffee shop and patisserie at VTB Arena
        Ленинградский пр., 36, «ВТБ Арена», 1-й этаж
        ▮▮▯▯▯
On the ground floor of the arena, entrance from the alley. On match and concert days it gets crowded before the start — check the arena’s schedule.
🍴 A French coffee shop and patisserie on the ground floor of VTB Arena, steps from Petrovsky Park. What to order: a croissant, an éclair or a quiche, and cocoa for the kid.
        📖 More about the placeCollapse
        • A French coffee shop and patisserie: the croissants, macarons, pastries and cookies in the display are refreshed every day.
        • Comme à Paris has two cafés: by Dynamo in VTB Arena and in Konkovo, on Profsoyuznaya.

↩️ Getting back: From VTB Arena 5 minutes back to Petrovsky Park metro (lifts) or to Dinamo metro
