Lunch on the grounds of the Writers' House — where writers once dined
🍴 A Russian-cuisine restaurant on the grounds of the Peredelkino Creative House — where writers once had lunch. What to order: shchi or borscht, cutlets, pies with tea.
        📖 More about the placeCollapse
        • The restaurant occupies a bright mid-century-style pavilion on the grounds of the Peredelkino Creative House.
        • The interior by the APAA studio is inspired by the Creative House's historic library, writers' studies and the architecture of Mies van der Rohe.
        • The shelves hold books about Peredelkino and second-hand editions by writers who lived here; you can read them right at the table.
        • The menu is based on 18th-century Russian cuisine and products of Russian origin.
        • Four literary tea blends were created for dacha tea parties: "Mint Lev", "Dostoevsky's Dreams", "The Cherry Orchard" and "Russian Caravan".
        • Laptops are asked to stay closed here — the Creative House has a coworking space for work.
