        🏛 Kuntsevo estate (Naryshkins' — Soldatyonkov's)
        Ворошиловский парк, 5
A late 19th-century main house on a high bank, surrounded by an old park with ravines and centuries-old trees.
The Naryshkin estate, later that of the merchant Soldatyonkov, under whom Kuntsevo became Muscovites' favourite place for dacha walks; look at the main house from outside

        • The Naryshkins owned Kuntsevo from 1690 to 1865 — it was received by Peter I's uncle Lev Naryshkin.
        • The 1818 obelisk honoring the Prussian king Frederick William III is misdated: the king was here on 1 June, not 4 July.
        • Kozma Soldatyonkov bought the estate in 1865 for 200,000 rubles and built a new house in 1874.
        • The house was wooden until the fire of 1974; in 1976 it was restored to its original look, but in brick.
        • Here Savrasov painted "View of Kuntsevo near Moscow", and Tchaikovsky wrote down the song "Solovushka" from a peasant woman.
        • Lermontov stayed here as a teenager, and Leo Tolstoy wrote that he "delighted to tears in the nature" of Kuntsevo.

        🌅 Kuntsevo hillfort (Kuntsevskoye Gorodishche)
        Суворовский парк, над Филёвской набережной
A cape overgrown with old forest, with the remains of a settlement of the Dyakovo culture of the early Iron Age.
A headland above the river with the rampart of a fortified settlement; the best view of the Krylatskoye Hills and the Moskva River

        • The first inhabitants appeared here in the 6th–5th centuries BC; in the 11th–13th centuries the Vyatichi lived on the cape.
        • The hillfort's platform is 72 m long and 20–30 m wide; the ramparts and ditches are still visible.
        • In the 13th–16th centuries the Church of the Intercession "on the Gorodishche" stood here; it was ruined in the Time of Troubles.
        • In the 1840s Ivan Zabelin found a gravestone here dated 1557.
        • The place was called "Accursed" and thought to be a pagan shrine; a landowner's "stone woman" once stood here in the hollow of an elm.

🌳 Holy spring of St Seraphim of Sarov
        склон над Филёвской набережной
A revered spring at the foot of a slope, where people from nearby districts come for water.
Go down the slope to the spring: a piece of old dacha Kuntsevo has survived here — steep paths and century-old lindens
