        • In 1799 Alexander Pushkin was baptised here, in the earlier church; a plaque of 1991 at the entrance recalls this.
        • The current cathedral was built from 1835 to 1845, designed by Yevgraf Tyurin; its domed rotunda echoes St Peter's in Rome.
        • The wooden Epiphany church in the village of Yelokhovo is first mentioned in 1694.
        • From 1938 to 1991 the church was the Patriarchal cathedral; enthronements of patriarchs took place here in 1943, 1945, 1971 and 1990.
        • Patriarchs Sergius and Alexy II are buried in the cathedral; Sergius's tombstone of 1949 was Alexei Shchusev's last work.

        • The palace was built in 1696–1699 by order of Peter I for his associate Franz Lefort.
        • The housewarming was celebrated on 12 February 1699, and three weeks later Lefort died.
        • Under Lefort the main hall had a gallery for an orchestra with an organ.
        • In 1706 Peter gave the palace to Menshikov, who rebuilt it with the help of architect Francesco Fontana.
        • In 1729 Peter II got engaged here to Ekaterina Dolgorukova, but died of smallpox in January 1730, shortly before the wedding.
        • Since 1804 military archives have been kept in the palace; in the 20th century it housed the Russian State Military History Archive.

        • The palace was built in 1773–1796 for Catherine II on the foundations of Anna Ioannovna's summer palace, Annenhof.
        • The design was by Prince Pyotr Makulov and Antonio Rinaldi, and Giacomo Quarenghi finished the facades and interiors.
        • The columns of the loggia on the street facade are of dark grey sandstone, "wild stone".
        • Paul I disliked the palace and, right after his mother's death, turned it into barracks, with a parade ground laid out in front.
        • After the destruction of 1812 the building was restored in 1823 for the Cadet Corps.
        • In Soviet times it housed the Military Academy of Armoured Forces, later the Combined Arms Academy.
        • In 2025 the palace was handed to the Tropinin Museum, which was renamed the Yekaterininsky museum complex.
