        🖼 Belyaevo Gallery
        Профсоюзная ул., 100
🎟 ticket · free on the third Sunday of the month, tickets in advance on mos.ru
A district exhibition hall with an underground history: in the late 1980s it was the first place to officially show the nonconformists. Today it shows contemporary art — a couple of rooms, half an hour.
Three minutes from Belyaevo along Profsoyuznaya. The exhibitions are small, and half an hour is enough. Closed on Monday — then just walk on.

        • The gallery opened in 1988 as a state exhibition hall.
        • It was preceded by the Hermitage association of the curator Leonid Bazhanov, which held exhibitions in a library on Profsoyuznaya in 1987.
        • The first exhibitions of Ernst Neizvestny, Oscar Rabin, Eduard Steinberg and Evgeny Kropivnitsky were held here.
        • Two kilometres from here, the "Bulldozer Exhibition" was broken up in 1974.

        🌳 Konkovo Ponds
        ул. Введенского
Two ponds of the former Konkovo-Troitskoye estate between Belyaevo and Konkovo — a quiet shore in the middle of residential blocks.
Along Vvedenskogo Street, 15 minutes. Walk round the Great Pond along the shore; in October there's almost no one here.

        • The ponds are fed by springs and the Kamenny stream.
        • The Small Pond is about 1.2 hectares, the Large one about 2 hectares.
        • In the 19th century they were part of the Konkovo-Troitskoye estate; two ponds of the cascade have survived.
        • The ponds lie at the source of the Konkovo stream.

🏛 Church of the Trinity in Konkovo
        Профсоюзная ул., 116
A small church in the Naryshkin style of the 1690s — all that is left of the Konkovo estate, now right by Profsoyuznaya.
10 minutes through the courtyards to Profsoyuznaya. The church stands right by the avenue; look at the bell tower — its second tier was added in 1808.

        • The style is Naryshkin Baroque; the building is a monument of federal significance.
        • At first the main altar was consecrated in the name of St Sergius of Radonezh.
        • The second tier of the bell tower was added in 1808.

🚶 Site of the "Bulldozer Exhibition"
Профсоюзная ул. у ул. Островитянова (метро «Коньково»)
The intersection at the exit from Konkovo metro: in 1974 this was wasteland where the police broke up an exhibition of unofficial artists with bulldozers.
Five minutes along Profsoyuznaya to the metro. There is no plaque here — stop at the corner with Ostrovityanova: this is where the paintings of Oskar Rabin and his comrades stood.
        📖 More about the placeCollapse
        • The exhibition took place on 15 September 1974 at the crossing of Ostrovityanov and Profsoyuznaya streets.
        • The paintings of the nonconformist artists were destroyed by water trucks and bulldozers.
        • It is the best-known public action of unofficial art in the USSR.
        • Today the wasteland is occupied by the exits of Konkovo metro station.

        ☕️ Comme à Paris bakery
        Профсоюзная ул., 126, корп. 3
        ▮▯▯▯▯
Across the road, by the metro exit. Croissant and coffee — inexpensive.
🍴 A French bakery and coffee shop by Konkovo metro with a small dining room. What to order: a classic croissant, a chocolate croissant, a puff pastry with pistachio cream, an éclair.
