        • The power station was built in 1905–1907, designed by Vasily Bashkirov, to power the Moscow tram.
        • The reconstruction was carried out by the studio of Italian architect Renzo Piano, who also designed the Centre Pompidou in Paris.
        • The House of Culture opened in December 2021; it was created by Leonid Mikhelson's V–A–C Foundation.
        • Four steel chimneys about 70 metres tall serve as air intakes, bringing fresh air into the building.
        • At the opening, Icelandic artist Ragnar Kjartansson spent months re-filming the series Santa Barbara here, live for visitors.
        • Inside there is a library, a cinema, a concert hall and open workshops.

        • The project was designed by architect Mikhail Posokhin, and Zurab Tsereteli took part in the decoration.
        • It is styled after 19th-century bridges, with arches, wrought-iron railings and lamps.
        • Over Bolotny Island the bridge is raised 10 m, and over the main channel 12.5 m.

        • The island appeared in the 1780s, when the Vodootvodny Canal was dug, cutting part of Zamoskvorechye off from the bank.
        • The Einem confectionery company dates its history from 1849, and construction of the factory on Bersenevskaya Embankment began in 1889.
        • After the revolution the factory was nationalised, and in 1922 it was renamed Krasny Oktyabr (Red October).
        • In 2007 production was moved to the Babayevsky factory, and the workshops were taken over by offices, exhibition halls, clubs and restaurants.
        • Nearby on the island are the 17th-century Averky Kirillov Chambers and Boris Iofan's House on the Embankment of 1931.
        • Patriarshy Bridge, which links the island to the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour, opened in 2004.
