        • Of more than 300 exhibits, about 80% were made in the museum's own workshops.
        • The exhibition fills three floors and 3,500 m²: anatomy, mechanics, optics, acoustics, hydraulics, electromagnetism and cars.
        • In the Mindball game you move a ball with the "power of thought", using brain signals.
        • The "Mechanics of the Renaissance" section has models of mechanisms invented more than 500 years ago.

        • Sokol was Moscow's first cooperative residential village, founded in 1923.
        • The village was built on the "garden city" idea of the Briton Ebenezer Howard.
        • By the only documented version, the name is left over from a plan to build the village in Sokolniki.
        • The houses were designed by Nikolai Markovnikov, the Vesnin brothers and others; by the early 1930s 114 houses had been built.
        • A cottage cost a shareholder 6,000 rubles, paid off over several years.
        • Since 1979 the village has been protected as an urban-planning monument, and since 1989 it has been self-governing.
