🏛 Church of the Resurrection on Uspensky Vrazhek

      Брюсов пер., 15/2

A church in Bryusov Lane that stayed open even during the Soviet "godless five-year plan" — actors living nearby pleaded for it.

      • A church on this spot is known since 1548 and appears on the Petrov Plan of Moscow of 1596-1598.
      • In the fire of 1629 Uspensky Vrazhek burned to the ground, and residents began building stone churches.
      • In the 1930s the church was not closed thanks to appeals from famous actors who lived next door.
