🏛 Church of the Trinity in Listy

      ул. Сретенка, 27/29, стр. 3

An ornate 17th-century church on the corner of Sretenka and Sukharevskaya Square. "V Listakh" (in Sheets) — because lubok prints were sold on its fence.

      • A wooden church is known here from 1632.
      • The stone church was built by the streltsy of Pushechnikov's regiment; it was consecrated in 1661.
      • The name "v Listakh" comes from print sellers who hung lubok "sheets" for sale on the church fence.
      • At first it was a cemetery church, and by the mid-17th century it became the streltsy regimental church.
