🏛 Church of St Spyridon of Trimythous in Nagatinsky Zaton

      Судостроительная ул., 50

A new five-domed church in the spirit of Vladimir-Suzdal architecture by Nagatinskaya Embankment; the parish appeared in 2011, when a small temporary church was consecrated.

      • The parish began with a small temporary church: it was consecrated on 22 November 2011 and the first liturgy was held the same day.
      • The foundation stone of the large church was consecrated by Patriarch Kirill on 27 March 2012.
      • The first gilded dome was raised on the church as early as September 2012 — half a year after the foundation stone.
      • The main dome is crowned by an openwork cross 4.5 metres high, gilded and inlaid with coloured glass lit by LEDs.
      • Among the relics are a particle of the relics and a slipper of St Spyridon; on Corfu, where his relics rest, the saint's footwear is traditionally changed.
      • Particles of the relics of St Luke (Voyno-Yasenetsky) and of Hieromartyr Charalampos are also kept here.
