      • The Maysky clearing was cut under Peter I, who held May Day festivities here.
      • In 1878 the city bought the Sokolnicheskaya and Olenya groves and made a public park for strolling.
      • Sokolniki became a park of culture and leisure on 16 May 1931.
      • In 1959 the American National Exhibition took place between the 4th and 5th Luchevoy clearings, where Khrushchev and Nixon held their "kitchen debate".
      • The park's picnic areas were landscaped under the 2012–2016 city program.
