      • Tsar Mikhail Fyodorovich built a country palace here and lived in it in the first years while the Kremlin was being restored.
      • A wooden votive church was built in memory of the repulse of Hetman Sahaidachny on the Feast of the Intercession in 1618, and a stone one in the 1620s.
      • The royal garden at the palace was the first in Russia to grow double roses.
      • The village of Rubtsovo came to be called Pokrovskoye after the church; today there is an Edinoverie parish and the Patriarchal Centre of Old Russian Liturgical Tradition.
