      🌳 Losiny Ostrov: Russky Byt eco center (Russian Way of Life)

      The national park's environmental education center with log buildings and objects of peasant life.

      • The Russky Byt museum has operated since 1998 and was reconstructed in 2015.
      • The exhibition shows peasant and suburban settlement life at the turn of the 19th–20th century.
      • A separate theme is the farming of the 10th-century Vyatichi, who settled the Moskva River valley.
      • Losiny Ostrov became a national park in 1983; it is the largest forest tract within Moscow's limits.
      • The forest's old name was "Pogonny Losiny Ostrov": from the tsars' hound hunts ("gon") and elk, the main quarry.
