      🚶 Krymskaya Embankment

A pedestrian embankment between Muzeon and Krymsky Bridge: wavy paths, benches by the water and a view of the Moskva River and the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour.

      • The embankment was made pedestrian in 2013 to a design by the Wowhaus studio; before that a road ran here.
      • The paths are deliberately laid in smooth waves, with hills of lawn and trees between them.
      • By the building on Krymsky Val that houses the New Tretyakov Gallery, an open-air art market has long operated: artists display and sell paintings.
      • From the embankment you can see Krymsky Bridge, the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour and Krasny Oktyabr on Bolotny Island.
