A square of 18th-century buildings by the Yauza: first a sailcloth factory of Peter's day, then an almshouse for elderly sailors.

      • At its core are the buildings of a sailcloth factory founded in 1696-1698; stone buildings are mentioned from 1719.
      • In 1775 the city's Catherine Almshouse opened here — at first for old sailors, which is why it was called the Sailors' Almshouse.
      • The closed courtyard square took shape in 1787-1790 to a design by I. A. Selekhov, and the bell tower with a spire was added in 1806.
      • In 1812 it served as a hospital for the wounded.
