      An independent contemporary culture centre in an old brick building: exhibitions, lectures and a bookshop of independent publishers.

      • The centre opened in 2013 with the Winter Book Festival.
      • At first Smena rented only the second floor; the first floor held a car wash and a tyre shop.
      • Now the ground floor has a bookshop, and the second floor has a lecture hall and exhibition rooms.
      • Smena has had its own publishing house since 2015.
      • Since 2023 the Galeev-Prometheus foundation has worked on the third floor.
