      • The zoo opened in 1930 on Mamina-Sibiryaka Street.
      • The first collection had 60 animals; by early 1931 there were already 358.
      • The idea of a zoo was put forward back in 1912–1913 by the Ural Society of Natural History Enthusiasts.
