      🏛 White Tower

      The 1931 Uralmash water tower — the symbol of Sverdlovsk Constructivism. We look from outside: it’s currently closed inside.

      • The tower was built in 1929–1931 to a design by Moisei Reisher.
      • It is one of the first reinforced-concrete structures in Sverdlovsk.
      • The tower was taken out of service in the 1960s and stood empty for a long time.
      • Since 2012 it has been restored by the Podelniki architectural group.
      • In 2020 the restoration project received a grant from the Getty Foundation.
