      🌳 Utrish Nature Reserve

      Большой Утриш, касса у въезда на полуостров

      Juniper and pistachio woods above the sea, a little piece of the Mediterranean. Visitors walk only on eco-trails with a reserve guide.

      • The Utrish Nature Reserve was created on 2 September 2010 on the Abrau Peninsula.
      • It covers more than 11,000 hectares.
      • At least 930 species of plants grow here, 45 of them in the Red Book of Russia.
      • The climate is sub-Mediterranean, hence the open juniper and pistachio woodland, like that around the Mediterranean.
      • The reserve is a key habitat of Nikolsky’s tortoise.
