      🚶 Moderate — 3–7 km

Take churchkhela, persimmons and cheese for the road; there are hardly any cafés on the beach out of season.

        🌅 Dzhemete Beach and Dunes
        Пионерский просп., у остановки «Рынок Джемете»
A wide sandy beach with dunes between the sanatoriums of Pionersky Prospekt and the sea, where a long empty beach to the north begins.
From the stop it’s 10 minutes to the sea past the market. Then walk north along the water’s edge: sanatoriums to the right, nothing but sea to the left.

        • The name Dzhemete is most often traced to the Adyghe for “golden sands”, a nod to the sandy shore with its dunes.
        • In 1828 a military fortification was built here to guard the road from Taman to Anapa.
        • In the late 19th century General Pilenko planted vines right on the waste sands by the dunes.
        • The dunes along Pionersky Prospekt rise to 12 metres and are called kuchugury.
