      Half a day for children: the park playgrounds and the sand of the Central Beach, ten minutes by minibus to the dolphinarium for a show with dolphins and a beluga, and lunch with a play area next door.

        The main park in the centre, from the Russian Gate to the sea: alleys, fountains, play areas and rides. Out of season some rides are closed, but it’s a pleasant place for a stroll.
        Start with the playgrounds and fountains in the park; it’s empty in the morning.

        • The park lies on the site of the Turkish fortress, and the remains of its defensive ditch survive here.
        • Under the park lie quarters of ancient Gorgippia: the city stretched from the Russian Gate to the end of the park.
        • The wall of the Turkish fortress ran from the Russian Gate to the sea through today’s park.

        A wide sandy beach in the centre: a shallow bay, a pier and a view of the High Bank. In late October the swimming season is over, and people stroll by the water.
        Go out to the sea: the pier, sand and gulls. In late October it’s already too cold to swim.

        • The shallows off Anapa warm up well: in the swimming season the water is usually +21…+25 °C.
        • In December 2024, after two tankers were wrecked in the Kerch Strait, fuel oil washed up on Anapa’s beaches.
        • The polluted sand was removed for more than a year and clean sand brought in; in spring 2026 the pebble beaches were taken out of the emergency zone.
        • The 2026 swimming season ran from 1 June to 30 September; swimming was allowed on beaches cleared by Rospotrebnadzor, the consumer health watchdog.

        🚶 Pionersky Prospekt

        Ten kilometres of sanatoriums and sandy beach with dunes. Out of season: empty beaches, shuttered stalls and plenty of room for a long walk by the sea.

        • It is Anapa’s longest street, 10.4 km along the sandy beach from the Anapka River to Vityazevo.
        • The name appeared on maps in 1965; before that it was the Dzhemete Highway.
        • The avenue is named after the Pioneer camps built along the shore from the late 1920s.
        • The first children’s sanatorium, Bimlyuk, was opened here in 1909 by the resort’s founder, Vladimir Budzinsky.
        • The dunes on the beach along the avenue rise to 12 metres and are called kuchugury.

        Shows with dolphins, fur seals and a beluga, with an oceanarium attached.
        Check the show times on the website and buy tickets in advance. There’s an oceanarium at the dolphinarium.
